Effexor side effects are some of the most horrifying experiences a person can go through.
The pain, the loneliness, the absolute terror that Effexor sometimes produces can test the very sanity of those who are forced to endure these Effexor side effects. Of course, not everyone has side effects from Effexor. Some users love Effexor, and what it has done to help relieve their symptoms of anxiety or depression.
Hopefully you’re one of those people. Common side effects of Effexor and Effexor XR: Abnormal sensitivity, abnormal speech, acne, anemia, angina pectoris (crushing chest pain), apathy, arthritis, asthma, bladder pain, blood or pus in the urine, breast pain, bone pain, brittle nails, bursitis, cataracts, chest congestion, clenching or grinding of the teeth, cold feet and hands, colitis, decreased muscle tone, difficulty swallowing, double vision, dry eyes, dry skin, eczema, exaggerated feeling of well-being, excessive menstrual flow, excessive urination, eye disorders or pain, fainting, hair loss, hallucinations, hemorrhoids, high or low blood sugar, high cholesterol, hives, hostility, hyperventilation, increased sex drive, inflammation of the bladder, inflammation of the digestive tract, infection, irregular heart beat, lack of coordination, lack of menstruation, laryngitis, leg cramps, low blood pressure, mania, middle ear inflammation, mouth sores, muscle spasms, muscle weakness, nerve pain, nosebleeds, overactivity, painful urination, paranoia, pinkeye, ‘pins and needles’ around the mouth, pneumonia, psoriasis, psychosis, stupor, rectal and vaginal hemorrhage, secretion of milk, seizures, skin disorders, swelling of the tongue, taste loss, tarry stools, tendonitis, thirst, urinary urgency and incontinence, vaginal discharge, and voice changes.

One more side effect not yet mentioned is the ‘brain shivers’ that can occur with Effexor and Effexor XR. This horrifying side effect can also occur as a withdrawal symptom – continuing long after the ‘medicine’ is discontinued. With brain shivers, when you turn you head, if feels like your brain hesitates before turning with the rest of the head.
When it does move, each brain movement produces ‘static’ sensations, with electric shocks running throughout the body. Different people experience different variations of this side effect. In addition to these many problems, you may have your own unique Effexor side effects. Over time, more and more side effects keep showing up.
